Few venues have as storied a history as McArthur Court, the University of Oregon’s renowned campus arena. “The Pit” has earned a well-deserved reputation in college sports as one of the loudest and toughest places for opponents to play thanks to the Ducks’ loyal, boisterous fans who have made Mac Court the ultimate home-court advantage.

Built in 1926, McArthur Court has provided countless indelible men’s basketball memories, from the Tall Firs, the first NCAA champions in 1939, to the Elite Eight teams of 2002 and 2007. However, the gym has also been home to stellar athletes and championship teams competing in women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics. In between the sporting events, Mac Court has hosted live performances by the likes of Elvis and the Grateful Dead; speeches by JFK and Barack Obama; and student activities including convocations, registration, homecomings, and commencements.

Mac Court Memories chronicles the rich history of the university’s venerable arena across decades and generations, as well as provides an in-depth look at the creation of the sparkling new Matthew Knight Arena. Created by the University of Oregon for alumni, boosters, students, athletes, and fans, this official commemorative was years in the making and is exhaustive in detail.

Boasting more than 200 images and exclusive mementos including collectible postcards, vintage Duck mascot stickers, and a removable poster, this one-of-a-kind keepsake is a show-and-tell treasury that captures the essence of what made Mac Court an experience unlike any other.
